Travelling by road

There are many routes to take for your French holiday. They depend on where you are in the UK, and your preference for motorway or scenic routes. The choices for crossing the channel include:

  • Dover to Calais - ferry

  • Dover to Boulogne - hovercraft ferry

  • Folkestone to Calais - Euro tunnel

  • Portsmouth to St Malo - overnight ferry

  • Portsmouth to Caen - ferry

Travelling by train

The station at Chalais is 4km away. We will collect you if you wish. The nearest station for the TGV (the high speed train) is Angoulême.

Flying from the UK

Flying to this part of South-west France from the UK, the nearest airport is Bergerac, with several daily cheap flights. However, Bordeaux is almost as close, and Limoges, La Rochelle and Poitiers are all within travelling distance. And other airports are being added.
