Week 73

Monday 10th October to Sunday 16th October

rent and let a sunsetThe last 5% of the roof seems to be taking 20% of the time. In fact, it isn't, but that's how it seems. It's too wet, or raining, or I just feel like some other form of workout.

But now, it's time for a final push. The Boss passes up tiles and I stack them on the second tier of scaffold. Then I go to the top and she passes them up again while I stack them on the roof. The tiles get heavier each time we do this, but at least, this is really the last load.

More cement up the ladder onto the roof and the intermittent sunny days, and finally it's finished. It's time to have a "fête de toiture"; a roof party, but we decide not until the spring. And no, the party is not on the roof, its to celebrate the end of the roof.

All we need now is some rain to test it
